Relations between HRM & IT

RELATIONS???

First of all what is "Relation" is...Ok, from the dictionary of Oxford it is define as "...the way in which two or more people or things are connected, or the state of being connected; the way in which two or more people or groups regard and behave towards each other.."

In this scope i would like to connect this subject to both Human Resource and IT department which 2 crucial departments that must have in every organizations in the world generally.

Based on an article that mention The Relation Between HRM and IT states that in our modern managerial environment in administration all of us can't escape of not using informational technology as a tool to make the routine smoother than to compare with the traditional system of management. Almost 100% of us know what is IT and basic knowledge about informational technology as simple thing as to type a document.

In HR department no matter the type of organisation they will use the simple and basic system of Human Resource Information System or we may simplify it as HRIS. It refers to the systems and technique and relationship between this two symbiosis department. It unites HRM as a control and particularly as its fundamental HR process and activities with the IT field, while the programming concept of the data processing systems developed into standardized functions and the packages of enterprise Resource planning software ERPS, that have their own resources on software that incorporate information from diverse application into one inclusive database.

The association of its financial and HR modules by one database is most significant features to the independently and proprietary developed forerunners that creates Human resource management software both firm and flexible.

When we heard about IT, IS, ERP, TPS, and other terms, do we really know what does it means and it's function each. by learning this subject the students will exposed to what are the subjects is all about and we will discussed it more deeper with experienced lecturer that will share their knowledge regarding technologies because there are a lots of terms that we may not really heard much in information technology. IS or information system is combination from both information technology and people actions or acticities that support management, operations,a nd decision making. Information technology is also known as interaction between people, process, data and technology.

In a broad scope, the term Information Systems (IS) is a scientific field of study that addresses the range of strategic, managerial and operational activities involved in the gathering, processing, storing, distributing and use of information, and its associated technologies, in society and organizations. The term information systems is also used to describe an organizational function that applies IS knowledge in industry, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. Information Systems often refers to the interaction between algorithmic processes and technology. This interaction can occur within or across organizational boundaries. An information system is not only the technology an organization uses, but also the way in which the organizations interact with the technology and the way in which the technology works with the organization’s business processes. Information systems are distinct from information technology (IT) in that an information system has an information technology component that interacts with the processes components.

There are a cup full of advantages of learning this subject, one of it is every single task in our daily life like doing laundry, done the assignment, making cars, presentation, marketing purpose, publicity purpose, entertainment, songs, and etc., all of these industries will depends on technologies to make it done smoothly. Even banks also using technology, and not to forget modern fishermen are using technology to relocate the fishes using radar that used wave transmission.

For me leraning Information technology do pour a lot of benefits to our medern society. eventhough there are a minority of weakness but then it can be improved as times goes by, because technology have a very rapid growth in the industry.
